Development from 1990's-2000's
Throughout the 1990's, there was common reflections on the development of the program since it's origin, with an added focus on gender and sexuality studies. However this caused some internal conflict within the department, as it was thought that the focus on women's studies was fading in preference of gender and sexuality studies. Addtionally, at this point in time due to the 20 years of work at Pitt, the influence on other departments was evident, as other classes were focused on adding inclusivity into their classroom envrionments and women's perspectives into their curriculum.
