Ina Braden's discrimination hearing has been put on delay due to question of Pitt's relation to the state. This is important with the case because it will determine if Pitt is under regulation by certain statures of the law.

Braden's case is under way but has been halted. Under the 1871 Klu Klux Act, it emphasises 'state law' and therfore, Pitt does not believe they fall under it since they are a relativley private institution. Slyvia Roberts, a lawyer for Ina Braden, argues that Pitt should in fact be under this as a result from recieving state funding even though it is not fully funded by the state.
