Free standing abortion clinics open in Pittsburgh after passing of Roe v. Wade.

Pat Miller, the Educational Director of Women's Health Services, received new job responsibilities after the Supreme Court's ruling in Roe v. Wade. The ruling granted women reproduction rights, resulting in Miller being tasked with informing women of their right to continue or terminate a pregnancy at the now available facilities in downtown Pittsburgh. The abortions are performed by qualified gynecologists through nonprofit organizations.
