Johnson's Trail
Pitt's final arguments consisted of demostrating that Sharon Johnson's research was irrelavant and her teaching was uninteresting. Johnson's lawyers described of the chairman has immense infleunce on the decisions that are made and how she was treated differenlty than her male collegaue counterparts.
The case is looking at complaints with Equal Oppurtunity Employment Commision, Title VII and the Civil Rights Act of 1963. An injuction prevoiusly allowed for her to continue to work at Pitt while the case went on.
Johnson is asking to be reinstated with tenure as a full professor as well as compensation for the damages to her repuation. NOW has provided her with an attorney, Sylvia Roberts. They are arguing that Johnson has been discriminated due to her sex and the decsion for her tenure application was unfair.
